How I pack portraits for posting

I've improved my packing method to prepare my portraits for posting. Protecting the portrait has always been a priority but I realise from customer feedback that being able to easily check the portrait when it arrives and then insert it back into its protective envelope is also an important factor.  Up to now I had always wrapped each portrait in protective brown packing paper placed on a stiff 2mm thick board to prevent accidental damage in the post. New for 2013 for all portraits up to A3 size are clear cellophane display envelopes which help protect the portrait during transport but also double as a convenient display or presentation option when the portrait arrives with the customer.

Each portrait is laid onto a stiff 2mm cardboard panel to help prevent accidental bending.
The portrait is then slid inside the protective clear cellophane envelope, ensuring the portrait faces away from the resealable sticky flap to prevent accidental sticking to the portrait surface.
The portrait can easily be viewed and shown to friends or family without risking dirty fingerprints or accidental damage while inside the cellophane display envelope.
The portrait is sent in a full cardboard envelope.
The portrait is finally sealed and posted.
The customer can then simply tear open the perforated flap to open the envelope and easily re-close it after checking the portrait.
