81 Nethermoor Lane, Killamarsh, Sheffield, S21 1BZ United Kingdom
Originally from Sheffield, England I've been working in creative fields for over 20 years. I first studied and worked in Yorkshire as a Landscape Architect which was great to be able to use natural materials on a large scale to create new landscapes. A change in direction in my early thirties led me to focus my creative skills on drawing and painting while working part time as a bike messenger. That gave me great balance of keeping fit in the fresh air on the bike while the rest of my time was spent with my young family and working in the art studio at home. I now specialise in highly detailed portrait drawings and watercolour paintings of people, pets and animals as well as architectural artwork of homes and commercial properties. I can turn my hand to other creative mediums when required, including digital artwork and photomontage.
I still have a base in Sheffield but spend much of my time working from a studio in Bavarian Alps. The internet and VoIP technology give me the flexibility to travel with my work with the advantage of being able to speak to clients one to one to discuss ideas wherever we are in the world. The internet has definitely made it easier to work as an independent artist with a worldwide market. International orders are warmly welcome as well as my base custom from the UK.
When I first began selling my artwork online I tried many different avenues to promote my work and attract visitors to my website. One of these avenues was by writing an Art Blog about my work, ideas and updates on new portraits. I soon realised how time consuming this can be, finding it difficult to make time to blog, especially while juggling work and family life so I’ve decided not to continue Blogging! My archived blog entries are still online via the link below, which gives me the chance to continue again if ever I get the time or inclination to Blog in the future! In the mean time I’ll try and keep my website updated with new work and portraits in the Gallery sections. Thanks for reading and visiting my site.
